Mngoma Empowerment Group (MEG) is a 100% black, privately owned company with its headquarters in Johannesburg. The founder, Mzi Mngoma started the company in 2014, with the aim of providing soft skills training and business advisory services. Soft skills training was meant to empower individuals working in various organisations, both private and public, to perform their work better and enhance productivity. Business advisory was meant for SMMEs and NGOs in the townships, to operate professionally, add value to their clients and become successful. With a background and qualifications in training, Mr Mngoma knew the value of soft skills training to improve lives and enhance productivity, hence it was important for him to share his knowledge in skills development. As a businessman since 2007, he lost his first company due to non-compliance and bad business decisions. He therefore felt he could use his experience to teach and coach SMMEs and township organisations to avoid certain mistakes that led to his downfall, so the latter could be organised and operate their organisations professionally and profitably.
